Vancouver Island Attractions

Vancouver Island is a wonderful place with many diverse places to vacation, and events and activities to participate in! The capital City of Victoria is a cultural centre for the arts, island history, and Canadian tradition... more

More Vancouver Island Attractions

From Victoria's Chinatown, to the Victoria Harbourfront and British Columbia Museum directly across from the Empress Hotel, Victoria BC and the Capital Region are memorable destinations for your family.

Vancouver Island attractions do not stop there! This Island is North America's Best Island To Visit and Victoria is just one small and famous vacation locale. Saanich is actually a much larger city than Victoria and makes up the largest part of the South Vancouver Island economy. Other South Island destinations in the Capital Region include Sidney and Sooke.

Moving up the Island, a car touring vacation is a popular way to travel Vancovuer Island. See the murals in Chemainus, spend a day or two in Nanaimo, which is Vancouver Island's second largest city. Nearby Qualicum Beach is the turn off to go cross-island and view old growth forests in the Clayquot Region. While there you can explore Long Beach on the west coast and enjoy crab and fresh seafood dinners in Tofino and Ucluelet, and take a whale-watching adventure out on the ocean.

On the North Island, there are still vacation places to play and relax. Try a little surfing which is perfect for beginners on Vancouver Island. The waves are not too intimidating, so windsurfing or boogie-boarding is great too! Campbell River is the North Island's largest city. All along the east coast of Vancouver Island there are vacation opportunities to ferry over to smaller islands. Two groups of Smaller Islands to note are the Discovery Islands and the Gulf Islands.
